Camarines Norte’s Labo town to celebrate 224th founding anniversary
Labo town in Camarines Norte will be celebrating its 224th founding anniversary on Sept. 8 as it also celebrates the 24th Busig-on Festival.
Labo became a town in 1800 during the Spanish era, but the town was formerly called Busog-on, a community led by a certain Tarik-Kudook.
The Busig-on Festival—with an i instead of o—is from the words meaning “plenty of water.” This fiesta should not be confused with the Labo Town Fiesta, which is usually celebrated in May.
During the Busig-on Festival, weeklong events will be held. These include Pasyal Turismo, Food Plaza, Beer Plaza, Vlogging Contenst, Agri-Tourism Trade Fair, and Display of Marian Icons.
