‘Enteng’: LPA east of E. Visayas develops into tropical depression

The low pressure area (LPA) east of Eastern Visayas has developed into a tropical depression on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The LPA, now called “Enteng,” is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Bicol Region on Sunday, and heavy to intense rains over Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes on Monday, according to Pagasa’s weather bulletin released on Sunday evening.

The state weather bureau will be issuing tropical cyclone bulletins starting at 11 a.m., it said on an update posted on social media.

Pagasa defines tropical depressions as “tropical cyclones with maximum sustained winds of up to 62 kilometers per hour (kph) or less than 34 nautical miles per hour (knots),”
